5th PNHD “ Gabi ng Tula, Awit at Sayaw “at FACLA on August 28.
Los Angeles—“ Honor our heroes, Ikarangal at Dakilain sila.”
The Justice for Filipino American Veterans (JFAV) and S4PACE in collaboration with FACLA presents: the 5th annual Philippine National Heroes Day named“ Gabi ng Tula, Awit at Sayaw “ to be held on August 28, 2013 from 5;00 PM to 11:00 PM
According to JFAV National Coordinator Arturo P. Garcia, “The public is cordially invited to this commemorative program in honor of the 5th Filipina/o and FilAm heroes and Dance Party will be held at at the Filipino American Community of Los Angeles ( FACLA) Social Hall at 1740 W. Temple St. Los Angeles,C A 90026
JFAV has been commemorating this event to memorialize our heroes most especially our believed World War II Veterans who until now are not recognized as American Veterans and their widows who also “stood and waited “ for their soldiers and benefits denied to them until today.” Garcia said.
5th Year of the PH National Heroes Day
Ms. Jovy Alejandrino, President of S4PACE also said: “This will be the fifth year of the project that seeks to revive Filipino patriotism and love of country while honoring the brave men and women of Filipino heroes including those of descent and ancestry in the United States”.
JFAV confirmed guest speakers were Ms. Stephanie Wong, Field Rep for Asm. Jimmy Gomes (D) of the 51st District that included the Historic Filipinotown and Angelo Yenko, Field Rep. of City Councilman Mitch O’ Farrel, District 13.
The public will be treated to an array of Filipino songs, music and dances. JFAV and FACLA invite performers to sing, recite poems and dance at the the FACLA Dance party.
The music will be provided by the Buddy Reyes and Letty Reyes and their Band.
The suggested donation at the door” is $ 5.00. After the program the dance party will go on until 11;00 in the evening.
FACLA is calling out people and organizations who are interested to perform Filipino or any regional music like Ilokano, Waray, Ilongo or Cebuano songs and dances please call FACLA at (213)-484=1527 or JFAV at (213)241-0995 for reservations in the program.
The deadline for reservations for performances for the night will be on August 26, Monday at 6:00 PM
