FACLA CALLS ON ALL ACTIVE MEMBERS TO AN ANNUAL GENERAL MEMBERSHIP ASSEMBLY ON NOVEMBER 23

Los Angeles—The Filipino American Community of Los Angeles (FACLA) will hold its annual membership meeting on November 23, 2013 at 9:00 AM at FACLA Social Hall, 1740 W. Temple St. Los Angeles, CA 90026.

Therefore, FACLA is calling all its active members to attend and actively participate in the discussions at its general membership meeting to move FACLA forward for the next two years.

This was announced by FACLA President Austin Baul Jr. last October 23, 2013.The general membership meeting was approved by the Board of Directors on their monthly meeting last October 21, 2013

This will be the second time a General Assembly was convened by FACLA. The first was on April 2013.

Order of Business

FACLA’s General membership meeting will have the following order of business: 1) Registration; 2) Opening Ceremonies; 3) Introduction of Board Members

More interesting topics will be discussed in the Committee Reports, the Treasurer’s Report; and the President’s Report.

The main agendafor the general membership meeting is the FACLA’s upcoming project and plans that will be presented to the general memebrship.

FACLA -USAP COALITION :A CALL TO ACTION ALL KABABAYAN IN THE UNITED STATES: YOLANDA THYPOON VICTIMS IN THE VISAYAS NEED YOUR HELP NOW

Los Angeles—More than 2 million people were affected by the strongest thypoon that hit the Philippines and Micronesia in the world’s history. As of the press time, more than 1,200 were killed during the storm surge last November 07-08, 2013 in Leyte alone.

To ensure that the survivors of the Typhoon Yolanda in the Visayas receive the immediate help that they need, the Filipino American Community of Los Angeles (FACLA) and the United States Action against PDAF ( USAP Coalition) activates the TAWID BAHA Disaster Relief Drive For the Visayas and is only accepting monetary donations (no in-kind donations please as of the present. please wait for further details).

All monetary donations will go towards helping the more than 2 million affected communities in the Visayas hard hit by Tyhpoon Yolanda and the cost of wiring the donations. Donations of any amount are tax-deductible. Any amount that you can give will go a long way.
