118th Rizal Day Commemoration and Day of Service at FACLA, December 30, 2014

Los Angeles– The Knights of Rizal (KOR)-Historic Filipinotown and the Filipino American Community of Los Angeles (FACLA) cordially invites the public to the 118th Rizal Day at FACLA
on December 30, 2014 at 10:00 AM

We would like to invite the public to join us, the Knight of Rizal (KOR) of the Historic Filipinotown led by GK Dr. Marc Caratao in a wreath laying ceremony and a program on Tuesday, at 10:00 in the morning, December 30,2014 at FACLA.

After the wreath laying ceremonies there will be a program and a salu-salo at the FACLA Social Hall.

Significance of Rizal Day

On December 30, 2014, the Spanish authorities executed Dr. Jose Rizal after a mock trial in Luneta by firing squad. By killing Rizal, the Spaniards hope to nip in the bud the raging revolution that started in August 23, 1896.

Yes, they killed Rizal and 30,000 other FIlipinos but they never stopped the revolution. The death of Dr.Rizal serves only as a fuel to the fire of the Philippine Revolution of 1896.

On June 12, 1898, the First Philippine Republic, the first ever to be proclaimed in Asia declared the Philippines independent from Spain.

MABUHAY si Dr. Jose P. Rizal!

FILAMS URGES SENATOR GRACE POE TO HEED THE PEOPLE’S CLARION CALL: RUN FOR PRESIDENT IN 2016

Los Angeles“ Run For President in 2016 , Please.”

The Filipino American Community in Southern California urges Senator Grace Poe to run as President of the Philippines to save it from further ruin.

This was the consensus of Filipino_American leaders based in Los Angeles according to Arturo P. Garcia of the LA based Alliance-Philippines.

Always Humble

Garcia added: “We are humbled by the declaration of Senator Poe that despite a surge in her ratings in the recent Pulse Asia survey on presidentiables, she still has no plans to seek a higher post in the 2016 national elections. We fervently hope that she changes her mind in due time, as the call for her to run is going viral throughout the whole United States.”

For those who claims that Poe is a political neophyte and too young, Sid Balatan, a veteran journalist and a a book author has this to say:

“Exactly, we want a President who is a political baby because that means Poe is free from political debts, unprostituted by political ties. Her lack of political experience will also insure that she will be open to new ideas brought by the Information Revolution,” Balatan said.

Hope of the Motherland

In the Pulse Asia survey conducted between November 14 and 20, 18 percent of the 1,200 respondents said they would vote Poe for president if the elections were held during the survey period.

Last September, Poe ranked fourth with 10 percent. Vice President Jejomar Binay, meanwhile, dropped five percentage points but remained at the top.

In a text message to reporters, Poe said that while she finds the increase heartwarming, “it does not shake off the real reasons I have said before that deter me from even seriously considering to run in 2016.” Poe said she is too young and new to politics.

Garcia said, “ We hope like President Aquino in 1984, she will change her mind and run for president for she is the only remaining hope of our motherland .

She is young, bold and daring and most of all very different from the old trapos and dynastic politicians in the Philippines.” Garcia ended

TALAMAK ANG INHUSTISYA SA AMERIKA, BULOK NA SISTEMANG JURY, PINAWALANG SALA AT AYAW LITISIN ANG MGA KRIMINAL NA PULIS SA NEW YORK

Disyembre 04, 2014

Makibaka Huwag Matakot! Ipaglaban ang Hustisya!
