TALAKAYAN URGES SENATOR GRACE POE TO HEED THE FILAM COMMUNITY CALL: RUN FOR PRESIDENT IN 2016

Los Angeles–The Filipino American Community leaders in Southern California urges Senator Grace Poe to run as President of the Philippines to save it from further ruin.

This was the consensus of TALAKAYAN sa FACLA Filipino American leaders based in Los Angeles during its discussion last Thrusday, December 11, 014 at FACLA.

According to TALAKAYAN Moderator, Dr. Orly Cagampan of the LA based Knights of Rizal-Historic Filipinotown and Dr. Veronico Agatep of the FACLA, Poe is sure winner for the 2016 presidential elections.

Sure Winner

Cagampan added: ”Poe surged in the survey to 2nd place behind the front runner Binay while he has not declared her intention to run in 2016. On the other Vice President Jojo Binay has been campaigning since he became the Vice-President without any let-up.”

For those who claims that Poe is a political neophyte and too young, Sid Balatan, a veteran journalist and a a book author has this to say:

“Exactly, we want a President who is a political baby because that means Poe is free from political debts, unprostituted by political ties. Her lack of political experience will also insure that she will be open to new ideas brought by the Information Revolution,” Balatan said.

Hope of the Motherland

Another TALAKAYAN moderator Arturo P.Garcia of Alliance-Philippines (AJLLP) said,” we fervently hope like President Aquino in 1985, she will change her mind and run for president for she is the only remaining hope of our motherland .

Poe is young, bold and a new face . She is daring and most of all very different from the old trapos and dynastic politicians in the Philippines. ” Garcia added.
