Prep For the PH Independence Day Grand Parade Revs Up
Los Angeles – The Filipino American Community of Los Angeles (FACLA) in collaboration with the Philippine Consulate General of Los Angeles preparations for the the First 115th Philippine Independence Day Grand Parade in Historic Filipinotown Los Angeles on Saturday, June 8 , 2013 revs up.
More than 20 organizations have confirmed their participation during the KALAYAAN 2013assessment meeting at the Consulate last May 3. The meeting was presided by the Consul General Dela Vega.
The starting and ending point of the parade and festivities will be at the Filipino American Community of Los Angeles (FACLA) Compound 1740 W. Temple St. Los Angeles. 90026
FACLA and the PH Consulate General is calling on all Filipino American organizations especially the Filipino American youth groups in Southern California to participate.
How to participate:
1. All organizations who are interested to join the Grand Parade in Historic Pilipinotown must fill up applications and be at the FACLA assembly area by 8:00 AM June 8 in the morning. Interested participants/ organizations may please contact Bernie Ganon or Art P. Garcia or the FACLA office ).
2.FACLA’s theme will be to present the Philippine Mayflower Festival or the Santacruzan. Therefore we call on all who are interested to join as “Sagalas” to enlist and contact FACLA and be one of the “ sagalas “ or “ concortes during the parade.

2. Participating Organization can join and contact FACLA and be in the FACLA and the HFNC contingent. The deadline for participation is also May 30, 2013
